Marchi introduces people who want to buy, sell or give away items. You arrange the transaction directly with the other person. Please read these terms before accepting them.
Marchi's role
Marchi provides listings, introductions and tools to help people organise their items and requests. Marchi is not the seller or buyer of items listed by its users, and does not act as either person's agent. Marchi does not take payments, hold money in escrow, provide buyer protection, arrange delivery or guarantee that a transaction will happen.
A favourite, request, acceptance or completed status records activity in Marchi; it is not proof of payment, ownership, delivery or inspection. Your communications and agreements with the other person may create legal obligations. Agree the transaction details directly; Marchi cannot make those agreements for you.
Your account and access
The private pilot is for people aged 18 or over who can enter into agreements. Give accurate account and contact information, keep your sign-in details and API tokens secure, and tell us if you suspect misuse. Only use accounts and automation access you are authorised to use. You are responsible for the instructions you give to tools acting through your account, including reviewing their output.
Seller responsibilities
Only list items you own or have permission to sell or give away. Describe them honestly, including known faults, condition, relevant safety information and what is included. Use photos and other content you have permission to share. Check the price, currency, brand, model and description before publishing, including content suggested by AI or imported through the API or MCP. Suggestions and photographs are not independent verification by Marchi.
Do not list stolen, counterfeit, illegal, recalled or unsafe items, or goods you cannot lawfully supply. If you are acting as a business, make that clear and comply with the duties that apply to you, including applicable consumer rights, product safety, taxes and information requirements. Do not describe yourself as a private seller to avoid those duties.
Buyer responsibilities and the transaction
Check who you are dealing with and ask the seller about the item's identity, condition, authenticity, safety and suitability. Where practical, inspect and test it before paying. Agree the final price, payment method, collection or delivery, included accessories and any return arrangements directly with the seller. Choose safe meeting and payment arrangements and keep a record of the listing and your agreement.
The buyer and seller are responsible for carrying out their agreement and resolving payment, collection, delivery, refund and item disputes with each other. A listing being visible in a group, or a person appearing in your contacts, is not a guarantee of their identity or trustworthiness.
Legal rights and responsibility
Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Rights can differ between a private sale and a purchase from a business. Being a private seller does not remove all legal responsibilities. These terms do not replace the contract between a buyer and seller or excuse either person from complying with the law.
Marchi does not independently verify every user, listing or item, and cannot guarantee another person's statements or performance. Marchi remains responsible for its own obligations under applicable law. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms do not promise compensation for a user's failed transaction simply because the introduction happened through Marchi.
Using the service fairly
Do not harass people, mislead others, send spam, scrape private information, bypass access controls or use the service unlawfully. Respect group rules and the privacy of other members. Use contact information shared for a transaction only for that purpose unless you have another lawful basis. You retain ownership of your content and permit Marchi to store, process and display it as needed to operate the features and sharing choices you use.
The pilot may change, have interruptions or contain errors. We may restrict access or remove content where reasonably necessary to address misuse, safety, security or legal concerns, and explain the reason where appropriate and lawful. Ending access does not cancel an agreement you already made with another user.
Beta service and changes
Marchi is a community website in beta. Trust develops through people's actions; membership, listings and introductions are not endorsements or guarantees. Features, restrictions, these terms and future service pricing may change as we learn from the beta.
Beta records, including listings and uploaded data, may be reset or deleted as part of development or maintenance. Keep your own copies of information you need. This does not permit us to disregard applicable privacy, retention or other legal duties. The service may be unavailable, paused or interrupted, and we do not promise uninterrupted access during the beta.
We may apply or change limits on accounts, listings, groups or features, or pause new additions without prior notice where needed for capacity, maintenance, safety or security. Existing transaction obligations between members continue. Reports can place listings or groups in quarantine pending site administrator review; review can restore access or permanently exclude the content. We retain a record of moderation decisions.
Changes to service pricing apply prospectively. Any new charge will be explained before you choose a paid service; these terms do not authorise an automatic charge. Material terms changes will be presented for your acceptance before continued signed-in use. Nothing in this beta section excludes rights, liabilities or notice obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Contact, records and changes
Use Give feedback in the app to contact the Marchi team about the service, inappropriate listings or account issues. If you cannot sign in, use the contact who arranged your pilot access. Reporting a transaction problem does not make Marchi responsible for deciding the dispute or issuing a refund.
We keep a record of your account identifier, the date and time of acceptance, the exact version and text of these terms, and the acknowledgements you give. These records document our agreement and may be retained where needed to administer the service or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Acceptance is not consent to marketing or a substitute for a privacy notice. Notification preferences are separate.
When we require acceptance of a new version, we will show it before you continue using the signed-in service or automation. Previous acceptance records remain in the history. You may decline by signing out and not continuing to use the service; contact the team about closing your account or existing records. Changes do not retrospectively alter a transaction you already agreed with another person.
These service terms are intended for the Jersey private pilot and are governed by Jersey law, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you. Nothing here prevents you from using a court or other remedy available under applicable law.
